Allies in the Community
Schools
Faversham’s schools, nurseries and youth groups have been keen participants in
the movement to reduce single use in the town. They have invited our volunteers
in to give assemblies, workshops and meetings with school councils. Teachers
and PTFAs often contact us for advice or ideas on how to reduce single use
plastic within the school. Several schools are working towards achieving Surfers
Against Sewage ‘Plastic Free Schools’ Award and our volunteers have been
supporting them with this.
Other charities and community organisations
A number of other organisations in town have collaborated with us on events
relating to reducing single-use, including Swale Friends of the Earth, The Faversham Society Open Gardens, Coasts for Life, Faversham Gunpowder W.I. and the Abbey Physic Garden.

Events
The wider community have taken part in numerous events showing their
