Faversham Literary Festival
Plastic Free Faversham and the Faversham Literary Festival bring you:
Isobel Losada and The Joyful Environmentalist
Isabel isn’t interested in learning any more about the climate crisis and suspects that you aren’t either. We all know how bad it is. Therefore her single-minded focus is on all the solutions we can find and can enjoy.
The author, comedienne and environmentalist explores How to Practise Without Preaching: the way we bank, heat our homes, travel, garden, dress, holiday, shop, lobby, volunteer, eat and furnish our homes. She shows that all the actions we can take in order to live a 1.5 degree lifestyle, and help our planet, are also those that will most enrich our lives. No prisoners will be taken and Isabel sends her audience away with a notebook full of ideas, suggestions and actions to be taken.
The Joyful Environmentalist was the Independent’s Best Buy for Environmentalism in 2022. Book tickets here

Plastic Lawn
NO! to Plastic Grass
Spring is here and the grass is growing! Or is it?!
Let’s make sure the grass does continue to grow by saying NO! To plastic grass. PFF has teamed up with Swale Friends of the Earth and Plastic Free Sheerness to launch Turf It Out, a campaign against the perils of plastic grass.
Fake lawns are bad in lots of ways. They stop birds, insects and small mammals from finding food and shelter, and they shed long-lived harmful micro-plastics into our environment, all the way to our rivers and seas. Choose real grass and reap a harvest of happy wildlife!
Follow us on Twitter and Facebook to keep up with the campaign and please share! The birds will love you for it!
